Belle of the Ball 2019
The 4th Annual 2019 Bulverde Belle of the Ball Prom Dress Project was a smashing success! Our Boutique weekend started with a bang with girls waiting to get in when we opened the doors at 9:00! On Saturday morning, we had seven fitting rooms filled with giggling girls and a line through the Boutique awaiting their turns. Our community made sure that the girls had plenty of dresses to try on…we had approximately 700 dresses in stock. Sixty five girls purchased at least one dress and as a result, together with shoes, purses and jewelry purchased we raised $2,107. These proceeds were divided between our organization (to cover costs) and Provisions Food Bank and the Bulverde Activity Center for Meals on Wheels.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful volunteers for steaming dresses, and helping to set up & take down our Boutique. However, the best part according to the ladies who serve as Personal Shopping Assistants to our girls during the Boutique is getting to see the girls as they come out of their dressing room and smile, blush and in short feel beautiful. A Special Thank you goes out to the Bulverde-SB 1st United Bank for being the home of our Belle of the Ball Boutique since our beginning, it’s amazing how a bank lobby can be transformed into a Prom Dress Boutique in just a few hours! We’d also like to thank Noah’s Ark Self Storage for their support and our wonderful partner in this endeavor, The Bulverde Thrift Store, without whose assistance and support, this project would not be possible.
Please remember that we continue to receive evening wear throughout the year at the Bulverde Thrift Store, so please consider donating this year’s prom wear towards next year’s Belle of the Ball! We appreciate all of your support. We invite you to join us for our 1st fundraising event, as the Bulverde/SB Angels host Christmas in July. This endeavor will support the needs of our Angel’s Christmas Tree Project which provides Christmas gifts to area children in need. We are currently seeking a location for this year’s Angel Tree main site, so if you have a large space available or know of one, please contact us or if you would be interested in volunteering for either project, please contact Cindy Hurst at 210-771-7639 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
