Bracken Christian School hires new Coordinator of Strategic Partnerships and Grants
Bracken Christian School has hired Verlyn Maldonado as its new Coordinator of Strategic Partnerships and Grants. Mrs. Maldonado is the former Executive Director of American Sunrise. American Sunrise was founded by former U.S. HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros and his wife former San Antonio City Councilwoman Mary Alice Cisneros in 2001, to provide educational services for children and families in the Westside of San Antonio. Mrs. Maldonado has experience managing all operational aspects of non-profits including event planning, grant writing and fundraising, identifying community needs and supplying innovative services in response.
Bracken Christian School serves families in Comal County. This new role will enable Bracken to pursue grant funding as well as develop strategic partnerships with businesses and organizations to better serve the community. Bracken Christian School offers a rich curriculum that provides superior academic challenges integrated with biblical principles to meet the intellectual, social, and spiritual needs of students. Standards are high and implemented by its dynamic teachers and staff. Classes boast a smaller student to teacher ratio allowing for more individualized attention and less distractions during instructional time. Bracken offers 3 unique enrollment options for families to choose from:
1. Traditional 5-day school
2. BCS STREAM- (2) or (3) day program for K5-8th grade
3. BCS Flex- High School Level 2, 3, or 5-day classes
