Comal County Public Health offering COVID-19 boosters

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 2, 2021:
 
Comal County Public Health is now offering COVID-19 booster vaccines to those eligible.

Comal County Public Health offers both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and the public must make an appointment to receive a booster.
 
Here is who is eligible for a booster at this time:
Pfizer and Moderna vaccine recipients who received both shots at least six months ago and meet the following criteria:

  • Anyone 65 and older.
  • All adults age 18 to 64 who have cancer, dementia, diabetes, heart disease, HIV, neurological conditions, Down syndrome, mental health disorders, smoking, substance abuse, obesity, tuberculosis and other medical conditions that increase their likelihood of complications from COVID.
  • Anyone 18 or older who live or work in a long-term care facility, homeless shelter and prison or other congregate setting.
  • Front-line personnel 18 or older who are at a higher risk of COVID-19 exposure due to their job, including first responders, teachers, supermarket staff and mass transit employees.
