About Us
Project 10:27 is a non-profit focused on providing one-on-one Christ-centered care to people in need throughout the community. Through heavy investment in one-on-one relationships, we offer care to homebound seniors who are experiencing challenging times in life such as grief, loneliness, and chronic or terminal illness. We connect with each senior through telephone contact, monthly correspondence, in-person visits, prayer, Bible study, fellowship, and social outings to help them reconnect with their community.
Our mission: To profoundly enhance the lives of senior adults by eradicating loneliness and social isolation. We are dedicated to fostering enduring relationships, ensuring that every senior adult feels valued and cherished as an integral part of their community.
Our Vision: We envision a community with sufficient interventions that lead to no senior adult experiencing social isolation while maintaining balanced mental health and involvement in their community.
Confronting the Crisis of Loneliness and Isolation Among Homebound Senior Adults
The homebound senior adult population in the United States is grappling with a critical and pressing issue—an epidemic of loneliness and isolation. These conditions extend far beyond mere emotional distress; they pose a lethal threat to the well-being of homebound seniors. The consequences of isolation are dire, with isolated seniors facing a considerable risk of depression, substance abuse, and even suicide. Loneliness poses a grave physical danger, capable of exacting a toll that is quite literally life-threatening.
