About Us

SJRC Texas | Belong is dedicated to building resilient families and fostering safe, nurturing environments for children. With a focus on family preservation and child well-being, the nonprofit delivers a comprehensive suite of evidence-based services, including therapeutic care, community-based support, and in-home interventions.

For more than 41 years, SJRC Texas, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, has provided a safe and nurturing home for vulnerable youth. Since inception, they have served more than 72,000 children and youth in the foster care system. SJRC provides Foster Care and Adoption Services, Residential Foster Care, and Family Enrichment Programs through its Family Resource Center.

In April of 2021, SJRC Texas was awarded a contract through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) for its division, Belong, to serve as the lead provider for Community-Based Care (CBC) for the South Central and Hill Country Region. The role of Belong is to serve any child removed from their home, within Region 8b, by facilitating placement, providing case management, reunification support, and adoption services. In addition to serving children in care, SJRC provides parenting classes and family enrichment programs available to all families in the South Central and Hill Country area. Belong delivers a community-based care model for youth and families by enacting systemic changes that expedite permanency and focus on child and family well-being.
