Description
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Central Texas advocates for abused and neglected children in the courts, schools, and child welfare system by training and supporting community volunteers to advocate in court what is in the best interest of the affected child. In 2018, with 261 active volunteers serving as Guardians ad Litem, CASA helped 597 children from Caldwell, Comal, Guadalupe and Hays Counties. However, an estimated 560 children were (and still are) without the voice of a CASA volunteer.
If you are interested in hearing more about becoming a CASA volunteer, you can attend a 1-hour ‘Info Session’ on the 4th Monday of the month from 6:30pm – 7:30pm at the Mammen Family Public Library. Please RSVP to Joyce Yannuzzi, Community Relations Coordinator at CASA of Central Texas, at: jyannuzzi@casacentex.org
