George Rodriguez, El Conservador
"Understanding the Border Crisis: An Honest Discussion"
George Rodriguez, “El Conservador” is a nationally known radio host, author, writer, blogger, news commentator, and public speaker. He is an expert on the border crisis, illegal immigration, and race relations.
He was born in Laredo, TX and raised in San Antonio. He is a graduate of BYU and has received certificates from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. He has also done graduate work at Arizona State and West Virginia universities.
George worked in Washington D.C. for 13 years where he was a Reagan and Bush1 appointee. He also worked on Capitol Hill for Utah Senator Orrin Hatch on the House Sun-Committee on immigration and the House Sub-Committee on Police/Community Relations.
He also worked at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for 12 years on issues including homelessness, community planning, and the impact of illegal immigration on local communities. He also worked on the Katrina recovery.
After retiring from federal service, George worked for local governments including the City of San Antonio on community planning and development.
In 2014, he became president of the San Antonio Tea Party, and later worked as regional director for the national Tea Party Patriots in 2015.
George is currently host of the “El Conservador” radio show that can be heard on KLUP-930 radio on Saturdays at 2pm Central. He is a frequent guest on local and national news shows including Fox News, Univision, Telemundo, and others.
