Description
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, MAY 9, 2017:
NEW BRAUNFELS — The next DIY Saturday hosted by the Comal County office of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be May 13, focusing on backyard egg production.
The class will be 9-11 a.m. at the county’s Extension Office, 325 Resource Drive, New Braunfels. The cost is $15; supplies will be provided.
“Raising chickens isn’t only a farm activity anymore,” said Troy Luepke, extension agent for agriculture and natural resources. “More and more people are building coops in their back yards and hoping to get fresh eggs from their chickens, and this will be a terrific opportunity to learn more about what goes into raising chickens.”
Attendees should register by calling 830-620-3440. Each class requires a minimum size, so attendees are encouraged to call ahead to make sure it still will be held.
The schedule for future DIY Saturdays is:
- June 10, Pickle Perfect
- July 8, Rain Gardens
- Aug. 12, Slow Cookers for Fast Food
- Sept. 9, Sausage Making
- Oct. 14, Kids Day in the Garden
- Nov. 11, Traditions Start at Home
