Description
The Greater Edwards Aquifer Alliance (GEAA), the League of Women Voters-Comal Area (LWV-CA), and Preserve Our Hill Country Environment (DBA: Stop 3009 Vulcan Quarry; 501(c)(4) status pending) invite the public to consider the need for fast-growing counties throughout the Hill Country to have more control over unincorporated areas regarding incompatible land uses and other impacts of development.
Special introductory remarks will be given by Carter Casteel. A former County Judge of Comal County, Casteel served from 2003 to 2007 for District 73 in the Texas House of Representatives, where she introduced legislation regarding more local control for counties.
Annalisa Peace, Executive Director of GEAA, and Jensie Madden, Land Use Chair for LWV-CA, will present information about possible tools that county commissioners could use to assist in managing growth, if aided by state legislation.
A time for comments and questions from the attendees will be moderated by Bonnie Leitch of LWV-CA.
