Description
Bring your lunch and learn something new at Ranger Craig's Nature Series - The Magic of Monarchs
Texas serves as a critical waystation in the life cycle of the iconic monarch butterfly. From providing nectar sources to power their fall migration to hosting milkweed plants for egg-laying in the spring, central Texas is key to their long-term survival. Monarch enthusiast and Park Ranger Craig Hensley will share his passion for these butterflies, their natural history and what you can do to help them during their migratory stopovers. You are then invited to join him in the field in search of the adults, eggs and larvae of monarchs as well as learn to identify the milkweeds so critical to their survival on Friday, March 16 from 1-3 pm
The Follow-up Field Experience will be on Friday, March 16 from 1-3 pm at the Guadalupe State Park, we will meet at the Headquarters parking lot at the park entrance . Please note that there is a park entrance fee of $7 for anyone aged 13 and over (free entrance with a TPWD park pass).
