Hill Country City Lifestyle to Bring a New Local Voice to Bulverde, Spring Branch and Surrounding Communities

Locally owned publication will celebrate the businesses, families, places and people that make the Hill Country an exceptional place to call home

BULVERDE, Texas — When Lori Naughton moved from central San Antonio to the Hill Country nearly seven years ago, she expected to love the space, the quiet and the breathtaking sunsets. What she didn't anticipate was how quickly she would fall in love with the people.

"There is a kindness here that's hard to describe until you've experienced it," Naughton said. "People know their neighbors. They support local businesses. They take care of each other. The sunsets really are spectacular, but it's the people who made this feel like home."

Now Naughton and business partner Stephanie West are preparing to launch Hill Country City Lifestyle, an upscale monthly publication created specifically for the communities they call home.

Part of the nationally established City Lifestyle publishing network, Hill Country City Lifestyle will be direct mailed to affluent households throughout Bulverde, Spring Branch, Canyon Lake, Garden Ridge, Timberwood Park and surrounding Hill Country communities.

But Naughton and West say the magazine is about much more than affluence.

"We want it to feel like us," Naughton said. "Beautiful homes and design, great food and wine, wellness, travel and style absolutely belong in these pages. But so do families, traditions, local events, small businesses, nonprofits and the places where we gather. That's what life here actually looks like."

Each monthly issue will feature original local editorial and photography, introducing readers to restaurants and businesses they may not yet know, sharing the stories behind familiar favorites, exploring homes and destinations, and celebrating the people and experiences that make the Hill Country distinctive.

For Naughton and West, supporting locally owned businesses is an especially important part of that mission.

"A great local business doesn't become part of a community because people saw one advertisement," West said. "It happens because people get to know the business, understand who is behind it and begin to trust the name. We want to help create those connections."

Founding Partners Sought Ahead of Launch

As Hill Country City Lifestyle prepares for its inaugural issue, Naughton and West are currently selecting a limited group of Founding Partners—local businesses that want to establish their brands as recognized names within the community from the publication's beginning.

Founding Partners receive special introductory opportunities, including preferred launch rates and additional content opportunities available for a limited time.

"We're being intentional about the businesses we bring into the magazine," Naughton said. "We want partners who care about this community and want to build a recognizable, trusted local brand here. Our goal isn't simply to sell advertising. It's to create long-term partnerships that are valuable to the businesses and interesting to our readers."

The inaugural issue of Hill Country City Lifestyle is expected to debut in December 2026 or January 2027.
