Project 10:27 Named a Recipient of the McKenna Foundation’s 2025 Year-End Grant
New Braunfels, TX - December 2025 - Project 10:27 is honored to announce that it has been selected as a recipient of the McKenna Foundation’s 2025 Year-End Grant, awarded during the Foundation’s annual Christmas breakfast held at the McKenna Center in New Braunfels.
The McKenna Foundation’s year-end grants recognize local nonprofit organizations that are making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families throughout the community. More than 1,600 community nominations were submitted this year - a record number - highlighting the profound impact of the organizations selected.
Project 10:27 was recognized for its work serving the senior population by combating loneliness and reducing social isolation through personal care visits, events, Bible studies and compassionate support rooted in the love of Christ. During the grant presentation, trustee Patrick M. Lynch Jr. described Project 10:27 as “truly a lifeline” for the senior population. One of the nominations echoed this by saying, “I’m 76 and home bound and Project 10:27 is my connection to the outside world.”
“We are deeply grateful to the McKenna Foundation for this generous grant and for the way they champion organizations serving our most vulnerable neighbors,” said Shane Carter, Executive Director of Project 10:27. “This support affirms the importance of caring for seniors with dignity, consistency, and Christ-centered love, and it validates that seniors need an engaged community to build meaningful relationships with them.”
Since beginning its grantmaking efforts in 2009, the McKenna Foundation has awarded more than $31 million to local nonprofits. The Foundation’s year-end grants serve as both financial support and a powerful expression of encouragement for organizations faithfully serving the community.
Project 10:27 is honored to stand alongside fellow grant recipients and remains committed to eradicating loneliness among seniors while demonstrating the life-giving love of Christ through every interaction and activity.
